Bio

I am a documentary filmmaker, practice-based PhD candidate in Film Practice (Documentary) at Newcastle University, and a lecturer in the Department of Visual Communication and Digital Media at the Pan Tianshou School of Architecture and Art Design, Ningbo University. I hold a Master's degree in Ethnographic and Documentary Film (Practical) from University College London and a Bachelor's degree in Media Practice from the University of Sussex. I also serve as a pre-selection jury member for the Golden Kapok Award at the 19th and 20th Guangzhou International Documentary Festival (GZDOC). My documentary China in Ethiopia (2017) won the Best Student Award at the 2018 One World Media Awards and the Best Editing of a Short Documentary at the Nice International Film Festival. It was also shortlisted for the All3Media Best Student Documentary at the Grierson Awards, selected for the 3rd Beijing Ethnographic Film Festival, and is part of the permanent collections of the National Library...
